Change Password


Introduction

As a logged-in PrepToolkit user, you may change the password associated with your account. Note that your password may not be changed more than once in a 24-hour period.

Only users without PIV cards will need to change the password associated with their accounts.


Steps to Change Password

While logged into PrepToolkit. select the dropdown arrow beside your name on the top right side of the screen. Select Change Password.

Two links are shown: My Sites and Jane Doe. A drop-down menu is shown below the name. The menu has four values available: Notifications, Edit Profile, Change Password, and Sign Out. The Change Password value is selected.

Provide your current password along with the new password that you choose. You must confirm your new password in the "Confirm New Password" field. Ensure your new password meets all password requirements. To review password requirements, select the button with the question mark beside the New Password field.

A window is shown with the following heading: Change your password by entering your current and new passwords. Two text fields are shown below this heading with the labels "Current Password" and "New Password," respectively. A question mark button beside the New Password field is selected. A list is shown below these fields with the following text: must be 15 characters or more; must contain a mixture of upper-case letters, lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters; must not match your name or username; must not contain dictionary words; must differ from the previous password by a minimum of four characters; must not match your last 10 passwords; must be changed every 60 days or less; must not be changed more than once in a 24 hour period. Below this list is a text field labeled "Confirm New Password." Save and Cancel buttons are displayed at the bottom of the window.

Once you have populated the three fields, select Save. If your password does not meet the password requirements, you will see an onscreen notification informing you that your password could not be changed.
